Pregnant at 45!

Yes!!

And we are currently at 26 weeks now. Me and the baby are both doing good. Praise God!

I never thought that I will someday write about my pregnancy here in this blog, well, after praying and waiting for 12 years, who would have thought it could still be possible right?

Photo not mine

But our God is God of impossible. Nothing is too hard for HIM! Because you read it right my dearest friends. I am pregnant for the very first time at 45 years old, conceived naturally.

We did not know we were pregnant, I never had morning sickness, nor any signs except for missed period which is a regular occurrence for me since I was diagnosed with PCOS.

How did I figure it out?

Well, last September (first week) I had frequent heartburn to the point that I couldn’t sleep properly at night. Research I made (a.k.a  googling)  said it could also be signs of pregnancy. After knowing that, I was already restless, it’s as if somebody is whispering to me to go buy a pregnancy test.

The night of September 13, I bought two pregnancy test, that night on my first try, it gave me 2 pink lines! I can’t believe it. I almost did not sleep but I kept it to myself. The morning after,  I tried again and there it was! My 2 pink lines.  I woke up my still sleeping husband (whose birthday is on that day!) and showed him the two pregnancy tests. His first reaction was “is that yours?”  we then both laugh!

We decided to go to OB/sonologist for an ultrasound early that morning.  There inside that tiny room, we both cried when they confirmed to us that we are pregnant and that we are already 21 weeks and 1 day!!! Imagine that! I whispered a prayer and thanked our GOD for keeping us safe despite of not having prenatal check up for the first 20 weeks.

God is amazing! And He does amazing things to His children. I know it is not a reward because who are we to be given that reward? It was not because we are faithful or good but it is solely because GOD is FAITHFUL and HE is so GOOD!

After the very huge storm in our married life last year, He has given us this special gift. Our heart is full and we are forever grateful.

To GOD be the GLORY!

Healing

3 months

And I am completely different now, the way I see life, the way I view things, the way I perceive marriage.

That 3 months made a major impact in our married life.

And  here we are now, on our way to complete recovery only because we have GOD who loves us even when we are unlovable, HIS GRACE is always SUFFICIENT.

And I will be forever grateful to HIM -the author of our marriage and to family & friends who fought with us in prayers.

10 days before Christmas

And I haven't wrap a single gift yet :( I don't want to stress my self though so I am not cramming, have bought a few gift items for our nieces and nephews and will try to buy few more for our godchildren just in time for our church thanksgiving party on Sunday.

Like last year, I am organizing a gift giving event for our ministry again and this time our beneficiaries are the kids from San Luis,Aurora-   their area was badly hit by typhoon Lando last October. We are giving them small toys, hygiene stuff and cookies :) I hope that will make them smile and happy this Christmas.

*~*

I dreamt of my  Tatay last night, in my dreams, he was holding my hand and guiding me to a path going to our relatives place. It is in this time of season that I miss him most, because during Christmas, he gets excited, he plans for the food and whats not, he loves to open gifts from us. I guess our Christmas will never be the same again without him.

BUT, I refuse not to be on the celebrative mood this Christmas. I refuse not to be happy. I am blessed, I have family to spend the holidays and all my nieces and nephews are excited as usual.

10 more days to go and it's Christmas :) I hope you enjoy your time with your love ones!

August. Happiness

Time flies so fast. Soon it will be September and…..Christmas!!!

I welcomed August in bed (fever and tummy ache) which lasted till Monday. Praise God I am okay now. I have always known that my husband is such a caring soul but seeing him take care of me while I was sick made me even more thankful. The whole weekend, he cooked and prepared food for us, did the laundry and at the same time did not forget the responsibilities he has in the church. I’ve got an amazing husband. And surprisingly even as I was sick and down with fever I did not feel irritated at all because I know I am being cared for excellently :) It helped me recover fast and quick.
Sorry for bragging about him, please do understand that I am just so thankful I married such a very very good man. Made me think of how I was to him when he’s in the receiving end. I cringe because I know there were times that I was not that calm and caring and loving. I know I am far from being that “woman” in Proverbs 31. I am a work in progress and I praise God even more because my husband looks beyond all that shortcomings and lapses I make from time to time. I am blessed beyond words. Blessed with much more than material things. True, money can't buy you happiness.
I love you mahal!

Have a happy weekend with your love ones!

Happy 21st of April!

Today is our 9th wedding anniversary. Honestly speaking, it was not all smooth and easy journey, we have had troubles, fights and many challenges but what matters most is that we face them TOGETHER.

We are choosing to be thankful of what we have and not focus on the things we don't have. It makes us more appreciative and happy.

We will have a dinner later tonight in a posh "eat all you can" restaurant, a gift from someone.
Indeed, we are blessed. We have family, we have friends and above all we have our God.

Blessings everyone!

F-r-i-e-n-d-s

Because it was the first Sunday of the month last Sunday and we had joint worship service, friends decided to come to our small house after church, we watched movies, we shared stories, we laugh, we cooked and we made memories :)

Five couples minus one husband who is currently abroad plus four kids and what do you expect? It was chaotic but it was full of laughter and fun. To say that we had great time is an understatement.

So blessed to have such good and crazy friends :)

Happier..bigger :)

We are getting bigger :) I can't count how many pounds we have gain na since we got married but have you notice what is very obvious?, the smile is very much the same ..

People may think that we are not complete as we do not have a baby yet but to us, it's entirely different.

Despite the odds and struggles and everything we encounter, we remain and will always be one happy couple.

SMILE EVERYONE!!!

Let us all think positive, happy thoughts and let us all hope for a good week!

I know last week was not that good but that is over now. And I am certain thing will get better and better.

Nanay is now at home and recovering. My prayer is that she recovers quickly and regain her usual strength. Keeping my hopes up :)

So for those who are in stormy situations now..don't worry..remember it can't rain forever!

Happy Birthday Mahal!

Today is my dear husband's birthday. Last night I kept on apologizing for not having something to give him as special gift, for not being able to prepare any special thing for him. And as expected, he said it's ok and that he doesn't need that and in return thanked me for just being there. To say that I have one wonderful husband is an understatement because he really is the best for me.

Actually, since today is payday, I told him we can eat out in a nice restaurant, sort of a treat to him because we seldom do that as we are financially tight as of this time, but instead of saying yes to me, my husband who is ever so humble and loving and caring to people said we will attend our church prayer meeting and then we will cook something  as he would like to share whatever blessings he has today to everyone of us there.  How selfless and how sacrificing my husband is and I am so much blessed.

Mahal, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I love you so much and I am so proud of you and I am forever grateful to the Lord for giving you to me :)

Today, you are highly favored and you are blessed beyond measure, exceedingly and abundantly more than you can ask or imagine as stated in Ephesians 3:20-21. May you keep on singing for God!

I won again!

Seems I am blessed (lucky for others term) in joining clog contest, and wow! There are lots of on going contest these days in the blogging world, it’s just that I cannot join them all, not that I’m choosy but I feel comfortable joining contest from bloggers I know and from bloggers whom I really am fond of reading their blogs.

So in that note, I would like to thank Mai of swept away for her blog contest, It is not a big amount but I appreciate it so much because she have chosen my blog post about her contest unique.

Here’s my post about it, and here’s the post announcing the winners.

And according to Mai, we just have to stay tuned for she might staged another contest again with higher prize, probably a prize we can use to buy girl stuff such as make ups or a UGG boots. I would love that!

So shall we all stay tuned?

Joyful and blessed

Busy Saturday indeed, though it is expected, because I never had a free Saturday for ages now. Saturday is always ministry time for me, I really have no time to clean and do some household chores on Saturdays, as a matter of fact until now our sinks still a mess. Hope I can still find time to clean it later.

So what happened today? Well, we woke up earlier than our usual waking up time on weekdays, we had the morning devotion at 6:30 and then after that we prepared for the “Women In Revival” that was held here too. It’s amazing how God works in the lives of the women in the church and am so blessed, so encourage and rejuvenated just like what I prayed for. It lasted till 4:00 in the afternoon. I was tired but full of joy. Our speaker Pastora Rachel Sanchez from the River of God church prayed for those women who are asking for a child and yes I raised my hand, I stand and was so happy to be prayed for. She also talked on how important the women are to God, she mentioned the book of Joel where in the last days the Lord will pour out his spirit to all, man or woman, kid or adult. It was so wonderful to see women hearing confirmation from the Lord, some were given comfort and some were given visions.

After that, I rested a bit and got myself a new manicure and a foot spa! Yup! Well, I know I needed that. It felt so good.

And then we practiced for worship tomorrow. We’ve given all our energies to the highest level today. But as I said a while ago, I’m happy, I have joy in my heart and I’m thankful.

23 days to go

I’m counting the days to our 2nd year wedding anniversary.

Although I don’t expect something special, or any surprise from hubby on that day because I know we don’t have funds to celebrate after that Ilocos Trip, we decided we’ll have simple but still intimate celebration.

But planning a simple celebration is not easy too..I am really at lost what to do and what to plan.

Should we eat out na lang? or should we dine out and see a movie together..we haven’t done this for a long time now.

Or should we checked-in ourselves to a not so fancy hotel in town? Or go to nearby resorts and unwind..by the way, I check some hotels and surprised to find out that some are really not that expensive naman pala especially if you book on line.

Tsk..tsk..if only money is not a big factor..I’ll book ourselves right away to Bohol or Boracay or Palawan and enjoy the day with hubby.most likely I’ll do this in secret to surprise him.

But just as I said before, I still know we are blessed..maybe not more of material things but still..we are blessed in so many ways.

I am blessed with a hubby that showered me with so much love. I am blessed to wake up every morning with his kisses and I’m blessed every night as I close my eyes with his assuring hugs.

And with or without something to do on our anniversary..It will still be special because It was after all remembering the very special day God has made us one.

And for me it’s the best gift ever.

thank you because...

I know we are blessed, I mean If I look around and open my eyes and see people in the street, I feel so blessed indeed..

But sometimes..there are just those moments when you feel so low and that you wanted to change everything..you’re environment, the place you live in..

Recently, I got so mad ( read: sobrang sama ng loob) to this special person in our life, my initial reaction was to pack our things and move out..but of course I had second thoughts and even third thought about it.

Yes, we are blessed..we don’t pay rent for the house or let me say our room, we don’t even pay for electricity and water bill, and I just want to grab that opportunity to save and spend our money wisely while we’re having all those blessings.

For I know someday, sooner or later..we will have to live on our own and leave our comfort zone.

No, we’re not living with either of our parents nor relatives.

We’re living in a mission’s house, provided by our church to full time workers like my husband.

And yes, there are ups and downs, there are raves and rants, there are advantages and disadvantages…but still at the end of the day I’m thankful.

I’m grateful that I am surrounded with people who cares, who love us, who needs us. People who have an entirely different upbringing, different family backgrounds and different characters, yet.. united in God’s love.

I just hope this LOVE will carry me through until we hear from the Lord what we have to do next.

My best gift ever

It’s 2 more days before my birthday..
And I know I have already received the best gift way back April 2005..and it is still the best gift I have now..that is where the title of this blog came from “Regalo ng Diyos (God’s gift)”

My husband is the best gift I got and he’ll always be.

It is a wonderful feeling knowing I am number one in his life..second from the Lord of course.

It is a blessing to wake up every morning with his kisses and hugs..
It is a blessing to have him praying for us regularly.
It is a blessing seeing Him so dependent on the Lord in every aspect of our married life.
It is a blessing hearing him singing songs for the Lord, composing song from his heart and making melodies from his heart.
It is a blessing to have his hands hold mine when I worry.
It is a blessing to have him assure me that everything’s gonna be fine when we’re facing trials.
It is a blessing knowing that his love for me won’t change with or without our own kids in the future.

And for all those blessings..Thank you Lord..indeed you love me so much and that you only want the best for me..

You have given me the best husband. :)
