Mourning and Dancing

Last Saturday, I took my hands off my laptop because I found this book sitting in the boxes somewhere in the house and didn't stop reading until the last page. I remember buying this book probably 9 years ago, I didn't know then that i would be needing and reading it now. God's timing is always perfect no?

I found this very helpful because some of  the words she used are exactly how I was feeling. And it somehow validated my belief that each one grieves differently. I know my sisters are grieving differently or deals with grief differently even we both lost the same Dad.

I cried through the book and at the end I remained hopeful that someday soon, we will all be dancing again :)

On reading books

It's been a while since I last read a good  book. I still haven't finished Nicholas Spark's The Guardian and it's been stashed in the box for quite sometime now. Last year I mostly read ebooks, that was the time I seriously thought of buying a kobo ereader for me but I've changed my mind. I still want the traditional books and I want them in my mini library someday :)

Anyways, I thought of books today because I recently watched "message in a bottle" also by Nicholas Sparks and realized I do not have that book yet meaning I haven't read it. I know the book is much better than the film so I'm hoping I can buy even a pre-owned one.

I wish I could read a book often and encouraged my husband as well. I think I should add this to my personal goals for this year :) What you think?

Books

I love books and one of my dreams is to have my own library at home someday. It was sad that I have to give up some of my books because of moving from one place to another. Some I left at y parents home and I just hope it is safe because I do plan to get them when I have already my own house.

My love for books started when I became student assistant in the library way back in college. While most of my classmates are always on the look out of cheap text books and of those who are selling their pre owned text books, I need not worry because I was there right in the hub of the source of books in the university and I had all the access to all kind of books. And I grabbed that opportunity to read and read and read. It’s where I discovered my love for Agatha Christie and the like.

Today, I am so glad we have stores that do buy and sell pre owned books. It’s where I get my books now a day. Plus I make it a point to go to Book Fair once a year. I bought a lot from last year’s book fair (gave them as Christmas gifts)

And although I am currently reading ebooks, I will still not trade buying a real book and fulfilling my dream someday.

Reading

I'm back to reading. This past few days when I needed to divert my mind from all the problems I have, I found my self being entertained by books again. Although this time as my finances won't let me buy new books, I opted to buy ebook instead. It's cheaper but honestly I still prefer books that I can hold and put in my bookshelf.

Anyways, so my eyes are kinda strain from reading this last few days, add to that the apidexin reviews and such :).

I just finished "Can you keep a secret" by Sophie Kinsella and I started "Undomestic Goddess" by her also. Bought the Sophie Kinsella ebook bundle for only 50.00.

Faith and Bible Prophecy

For three Sundays of January, our Pastor preached about “Faith” , of course not forgetting to tell the story of men in the bible whose faith in the Lord is extra ordinary. Like Abraham who had faith in the Lord who promised him when he is already 70 years old that he’ll be the father of all nations and that his sons and daughters will be as numerous as the stars in the sky. I believe we should all have faith like that. Believing the things that we have yet to see and knowing in our heart that it will happen someday.
And he also mentioned persons not in the bible but had faith determination to finish and be succesfull in what they do. And I want that “faith determination” too.
Someday soon our dream will come true.

Anyways, if you are a christian and is looking for some good reading materials, or you may want to read about Bible Prophecy, bobfraleychristianlifeoutreach.com has many titles available, I think his Salt and Light book is very interesting as it is design for equipping the Christians on the last days, they also have “The day that changed America” which I believe not only Christian America should read.

But right now, I am also looking for some DVBS materials that we could use for the kids this summer and I need also training materials for the new Sunday School teachers we will train next month.

I surrounded my self with books today and it's one of those days that how I wish I am rich so I can buy lots and lots of books!. I was able to dragged hubby to Manila International Book Fair at SMX (MOA) this afternoon and I was glad he came. He enjoyed browsing too!

Dear John

It’s very seldom that I finished a book in one sitting more so if I read on Sunday evening knowing I have to get up early the following morning but Nicholas Sparks’ “Dear John” was now an exemption. I couldn’t put the book down. And I am not ashamed to tell you that I really cried even long after I put it down. I needed to talk to somebody after reading it so I woke up poor dear husband and told him about it. He seems not surprised though because half awake he managed to ask some questions about it maybe not wanting to disappoint me. :)

It is painful and yet it is beautiful knowing that it is true love. Sacrificing your happiness for the one you cared for. It’s really something.

I wish though that it was a happy ending but then again real life is not all happy ending right?

I can’t wait to see the movie which is set to release on February but I think it will be here March. Can’t get over watching the trailer, it’s like I knew all the scene, the bag falling in the deep water, the rain at the house Savannah was building, Tim’s nose, the letters. I’m sure it is a tearjerker like all Nicholas novel.

And I am so happy to say I have already finished "The Nanny diaries" last week. I didn't see the movie so I enjoyed the book so much. I can't put it down. There was even a time that I slept at around 5 AM. Very entertaining and very close to truth.

This time I am reading "Loves Abiding Joy " by Jannete Oke, it is actually a sreies and I already watch the first three on DVD many times and everytime I watch it I keep falling in love. *~*

I am so glad I have renewed my love for the books and reading again. It's been so long and I admit I miss reading a lot. I hope I can keep on reading till I'm old and I hope I can encourage my would be children to read a lot too.
