Skyfall

It's been a while since I last went to a movie house. As a matter of fact, I don't even remember now the last movie I saw in that big white screen. Last night we went with my sister and brother in law (because we were trying to console them and we're trying to take her mind off the recent tragedy even for few hours).

Anyways, it was a toss between " A Secret Affair" - a local movie and  "Skyfall" - a James Bond movie. Girls wanted the first one and the guys wanted the second, but after a not so lengthy decision making, we opted to see Skyfall. Honestly, I am not a fan of 007 movies but sometimes I do like the action specially when the husband enjoys them so much. The movie lasted more than two hours I think and yes, it's full of action, lots of running and driving the whole time :)

I enjoyed the night and hopefully the sister in law enjoyed it too.

Expendables night

As you have read below, I let hubby chose the movie and my guess is right. And I do not regret giving him the right to chose because I enjoyed it too. Enjoyed meaning I did not fall asleep because it was an action packed movie. And the sound won't let you sleep also.lol

I didn't know it was also directed by Sylvester Stallone himself. I was never a fan,a s a matter of fact I do not remember watching any of his movies. Old as he is now but this one is good I must say.

MOVIE DATE

After “Dear John” last February, finally, another movie date with the husband last night. I do not watch movies in big screen too often because I find it expensive and we are at present in cost cutting times. But last night I asked hubby if we could at least watch “HERE COMES THE BRIDE’ and he said yes. After all it was a funny movie and we need to laugh real hard sometimes right?

And the movie did not fail us. It was hilarious, very entertaining and I liked it. And the husband enjoyed it too. John Lapuz is funny and the big girl like me who obviously needs clinicallix to shed the excess pounds is funny too. I do not know her actually but she’s good.

Ad of course Eugene Domingo was the very reason why I wanted to see it. Saw her “Kimidora” and I assumed this one is good to and I was right.

So if you haven’t watched it yet. I highly recommend it, it is still showing in some cinemas in Metro Manila. We watched at Waltermart Pasong Tamo which is convenient for us because we are very near that place.

Enjoy!!

Dear John

It’s very seldom that I finished a book in one sitting more so if I read on Sunday evening knowing I have to get up early the following morning but Nicholas Sparks’ “Dear John” was now an exemption. I couldn’t put the book down. And I am not ashamed to tell you that I really cried even long after I put it down. I needed to talk to somebody after reading it so I woke up poor dear husband and told him about it. He seems not surprised though because half awake he managed to ask some questions about it maybe not wanting to disappoint me. :)

It is painful and yet it is beautiful knowing that it is true love. Sacrificing your happiness for the one you cared for. It’s really something.

I wish though that it was a happy ending but then again real life is not all happy ending right?

I can’t wait to see the movie which is set to release on February but I think it will be here March. Can’t get over watching the trailer, it’s like I knew all the scene, the bag falling in the deep water, the rain at the house Savannah was building, Tim’s nose, the letters. I’m sure it is a tearjerker like all Nicholas novel.

Facing the giants of our lives

Last Sunday night, we had the chance to watch “facing the giants” it was talk of the town in our church since last week. I know it has touched many lives in our youth and I just can’t wait to see it, so finally we did.

It is a Christian movie and I will recommend it again and again for everyone to see.

I was deeply touched of the coach faith in God especially in times of troubles. In his lowest moment he called on help and cried to the Lord.

Hubby and I held each others hands. The feeling of “wanting to have the baby” is so real to us, because we are on the same situation.

At the end of the movie, I was inspired, encouraged, revived.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD.

Here are some of the quotes that caught my heart;

“Your attitude is like the aroma of your heart. If your attitude stinks, it means your heart’s not right.”

"I've resolved to give God everything I've got and leave the results up to him."

and this one...

”If the Lord never gives us children, will you still love Him?”

I asked hubby the same question and he said

"yes, I will still love Him, serve Him and praise Him." and I know I'll do the same.

What I did last weekend

Anybody wants to join in writing and completing a story? It’s fun! Visit bunso’s site and it’s there. I am actually entertained reading those few sentences added by the readers. It’s like he started a story and then asked fellow bloggers to write on..it’s far from having it’s the end so you might want to go and add your few words.

We participated in the EARTH HOUR last Saturday night, it’s sad though because when we looked around in our neighborhood, seems it’s only us who participated. Sigh. And I sigh more when I think that not my entire church mate is into the idea of helping our mother earth. I got a chance of promoting it to our Friday meeting and some nodded their head and some I guess are just like “and so what? It’s bound to happen anyway”.

Last Sunday afternoon, we went to Binan, Laguna and attended a child dedication, hubby was chosen as Ninong (Godfather) and though it’s a bit far we obliged ourselves to go. It’s sad though because the parents of the child separated few months after the youngest was born, all 4 kids are in the care of the mom. The father left them for another girl daw. So it moved us to tears yesterday when she went into front to dedicate her only girl and her youngest to God. May the good Lord bless them and provide for them. And I pray for her to be strong and to hold on.

Friday and Saturday night- I watch ROME (series) and the Love comes softly (movie series) again, only this time am with our good friend Grace ..and you bet, I cried again. haha! We haven't finish it yet and we plan to continue it tonight. We were all exhausted last night so we skipped it.
