hello everyone! (as if naman marami nagbabasa nito) super tagal ko mag-update no?aski ako minsan ayoko na bisitahin blog ko kasi la naman bago..hehe! so para naman may mabasa akong bago..eto na bgong entry..
I was super down last week...ngarag..stress...pagod..pressured..sama-sama na..sa buong isang linggo..3 beses ata kami nag-away ni dolf..but we make sure na hindi talaga nag-tatagal..thank you so much sa counselling namin with PAstor Boying every Monday night...big help talaga.
Di kami natuloy umuwi sa Nueva..di pa rin kami nakakakuha ng license (because of me) di kasi ako maka leave.iniisip ko pagsabayin na lang pag uwi namin..mas madali kasi kung dun na lang kami magpa-file..walang masyado requirements na hihingin..since sa probinsiya magkakakilala halos mga tao.. saka may friend ako na nag-wo-work dun, sabi niya puntahan ko daw siya..pero yung mga taong nakapaligid sa'min..super tanong na.."wala pa kayong license? naku! asikasuhin nyo na yan..malapit na April"..i know..i know...i know..UGH! di ba mas lalo nakaka pressure..yeah..concerned lang sila talaga.
I'm letting go of my cake design (hu!hu!hu!) I'm getting the cake na kasama sa package ng caterer..budget wise..para mas marami kami ma-invite..
last Saturday super blessing day sa amin ni dolf..natanggap na namin yung money for the cake (sana) from jerlyn..she's aware naman na will add it na lang sa reception payment..Thanks jerlyn!! YOU ARE INDEED A BLESSING!
at kasabay nun..we got the money also from Kuya Joshua for Rudolf's barong and shoes? Isn't GOD GREAT? along with the money is the note that reads like this;
Rudolf/Raquel,
Here's our personal gift for your wedding..umpisa pa lang ito..marami pang kasunod..pray for it..claim it!!!
Kuya Joshua & Ate Anne
and I know it's true.. we claimed it In Jesus Name..
this wedding will be a showcase of God's love and power..and people will glorify Him alone.
T-SHIRT PRINTING
malaki-laki na isinasakit ng ulo ko dito..hehe! pero alam kong blessing din ito ng Lord..i am confident na we will be able to finish lahat within the week...so we can go on with the wedding preps..medyo pagod na rin si rudolf kahit may mga tao..plus pine-pressure ko pa sila..this really is a step of faith,,nag start lang kami sa maliit but God wants us to venture na sa malakihang production na.
BRIDAL FAIR AND SHOES
kahapon after the service..we went to Mega mall..silip lang sa bridal fair..dami supplier, am not looking naman na for any since may mga supplier na halos kami..lumibot lang talaga. tapos we bought Rudolf's shoes na rin..susme! sumakit ang paa ko..ang tagal umikot..pero finally may nabili din siya, which i think is a good find..pasok sa budget, maganda at mukang matibay naman..thanks again kuya Josh & Ate Anne!
sige na po..gotta go na..tapos na yata lunch break..hehe!!
February 10, 2006 (Friday)
It’s 2 days after my birthday..long celebration kasi Tuesday pa lang nagcelebrate na kami with the engaged couples in the church since every first Tuesday of the month yung discipleship namin..kagabi we celebrated it sa center with the young professionals..konti lang kami but it’s ok though..I cooked “macaroni and cheese” for the first time..ni research ko pa yung recipe sa internet..of course nasarapan silang lahat..
Takot lang nila sa’kin..hehe! sa Saturday we’re planning to celebrate it with the “batang krayola” kids at maricaban…I’m repeating the macaroni plus isip na lang siguro ako ng iba pa..this birthday is so memorable coz this would be my last as a single..and memorable because of the ring..yup…2 months before our wedding and Rudolf bought me a ring..sabi ko nga sa kanya sana you asked me..”will you marry me?” hehe! and a part of the card he gave me says..”mas lalo kong natututunang lumapit sa Panginoon ng maging ganap akong responsable bilang magiging asawa mo”. Siempre super touch ako…alam ko marami pa siyang pagdadaanan..and he’s learning fast..he’s been maturing since day 1 of our being together..Praise God!
Ako naman..as a gift to myself..I bought a book and a notebook finally..matagal ko na gusto bumili ng bagong journal..kasi di nako nakakapagsulat lately because wala na ko masulatan..ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na bumili.. the book is “Help, I’m getting married” a manual for pastors, couples and wedding coordinators by Dr. Eli Javier. It’s a good book lalo na if you’re just thinking of getting married..very beneficial kasi all the basics you need in preparation..pati governement requirement and may mga sample program pa.. Ipapahiram ko sa inyo yun..carmel, tata, jerlyn at kung sino pa man jan ang nagpa-planong mgpakasal na.
WAAAAAH!!! Wala pa rin kaming marriage license..we really need to do this na. Ang problema di ako maka leave..we scheduled it again (for the nth time) on the 17th..at kahit ano mangyari itutuloy ko na ito..after naming kumuha..deretso na kami uwi ng nueva ecija..to look for the following supplier..cake..make –up artist and check again the reception venue, hopefully makapagbayad na rin kami ng downpayment at baka sakaling makatawad pa. Hehe!
Our guestlist is blowing up & up & up…from 116 nasa 159 na kami ngayon..eh ang maximum lang namin 150..better kung mas less pa..I really do not want a big wedding, I want it to be as intimate as it can be sana..i have to sit-down and discuss this with Rudolf..para malaman namin kung sino ba talaga dun yung pwede naming hindi na lang I-invite..anyway,tatay and nanay will prepare din naman sa house..haay! doble pa reception namin.
We’re really, really out on a budget na but I am TRUSTING MY GOD. Everything will be alright.

some wedding etiquette.."YOU'RE INVITED
note: copied from edrei..it's nice..we can actually learn something from this..
Here's an article of John & Benz Rana's (of www.weddingsatwork.com) wrote that originally appeared on 12.03.05 on About Weddings. Hope we will all learn from it...hehehehe.
Questions & Answers
Q. I got an invite but have no plans of attending; should I still send a gift?
A.First thing’s first. If you won’t be able to attend for whatever reason, please RSVP. A big chunk of the wedding budget goes to the reception and it will be utterly inconsiderate to just give up a reserved seat without letting the couple know. Give them the chance to assign that seat to another guest in their “waitlist.” Having that out of the way, let’s get to your question: YES, it is customary to still send a gift.
Q. The envelope bears only my name. May I ask if I can bring a date?
A. Don’t bring a date unless your invitation specifically says “and Guest.” Bringing unexpected guests is very impolite. Neither should you ask the couple’s permission if you may bring one or not. Don’t put your friends on the spot. We Filipinos don’t really like turning down people. So how would you know if their “Yes” means yes or not? Spare them that trouble.
Q. The invite says “Mr. & Mrs.” Could we bring our kids?
A. Never bring the kids unless “& Family” is indicated. Soon-to-weds don’t usually invite children for a good reason. Kids get bored or cranky during hour-long masses. Their tantrums might disrupt the solemnity of the ceremony. Weddings are usually formal events typically not appropriate for the little ones. To be blunt about it, inviting a child at the reception means added two mouths to feed – the kid’s and the yaya’s.
Follow-up Q. But my son/daughter is the bearer/flower girl. I’m sure it’s understood that my other child is invited.
A. Which part of the answer above didn’t you understand? Seriously, if the couple wanted to invite your other kid, they would have specified that on the envelope.
2nd follow-up Q. But I’m breastfeeding, I’m sure my friends will understand, won’t they?
A. Granting that it’s an infant and he or she won’t eat at the reception – let’s even assume that your baby won’t wail at the church – the answer is still NO! Not even if you’ve perfected the art of being a cow in a long gown. Four words: Breast Pump and Babysitter!
Q. I don’t have a clue what gift to give them. Any ideas?
A. The average Pinoy soon-to-wed would always prefer monetary gifts more than any other gift. It is the unspoken fact. We’re telling you now to make it easier for them to let you know what they REALLY want; unless they indicated that already in their invites which, by the way, is a very tacky thing to do.
If you’re not comfortable giving cash, you may ask the couple where they are registered (Gift / Bridal Registry) and choose from what’s listed under their names in the store. You can also ask them where they’re residing after the wedding and take the cue from there. If you know that they’ll be migrating abroad or living with their parents for the time being, a ref or another oven toaster may not be the most practical and logical gift.
Q. I’m convinced. So how much cash should I give them? I don't want to give too little or too much.
A. That’s a hard thing to answer. It’s really a case-to-case thing. Try to put yourself in the couple’s shoes. How much should a guest of your stature give you without being branded a cheapskate? Also consider your relationship with the couple. If you're good friends of the couple's parents, you'll probably shell-out more than if you were simply the bride’s Girl Friday.
Q. Could I skip the ceremony and head straight to the reception?
A. You can… BUT you shouldn’t! You are invited to THE wedding -- that’s the part where they exchange their “I dos.” The reception is where the Receiving Line is. You can’t be ‘received’ if you are already seated in the hall, right? “Patay-gutom” is too harsh a word and we assure you that it’s by no means what anyone would think if indeed you decide to go straight to the reception. But admit that it struck a nerve just mentioning the word in that context, isn’t it?
Q. Speaking of the Receiving Line, what should be the proper greeting?
A. Here’s the rule: Say “Congratulations” to the groom and “Best Wishes” to the bride. The reason behind is that "congrats" implies that someone has caught something or won a prize, and it is rather improper to imply that the bride “caught” the man who married her. If this rule gets mixed-up in your head come wedding day, just say the two phrases together and look at both of them. That usually works!
Likewise, saying “Good Luck!” no matter how pure your wishes are will also sound very inappropriate for obvious reasons.
Q. Nice try, but what if the couple makes a Grand Entrance and left the Receiving Line to their parents? What then should I tell them? Note that I don’t even know which sets of parents are whose.
A. Didn’t we tell you already not to skip the ceremony? The bride and groom usually walk alongside their respective parents at the very start!
Anyway, make your pleasantries short and sweet. Shake their hands and say "Hello! I'm (your name) and I went to school with (name of bride/groom) in (school’s name)/an officemate of (name of bride/groom) at (name of company)." They usually respond with "Nice meeting you." Just smile, nod politely, and move on to the next person. If one replies “Hi! I’ve heard so much about you!”, simply smile and nod just the same. No lengthy conversation; just make small talk at most. If you can’t find the words to say, just smile again, nod politely, and move.
Q. During the banquet, is there anything I need to know?
A. Nowadays, the Reception Program usually have the guests on each table stand up and have their picture taken with the couple before being led to the buffet. This is done to resolve two issues of past weddings: (a) for the couple’s convenience and skip the tiring Table-Hopping ritual just to have their picture taken with all their guests; and (b) for the guests’ convenience so they won’t have to wait very long for their turn in the buffet line.
Keep in mind that Buffet is NOT synonymous with “Eat-All-You-Can.” Do not pile your plate full. Be courteous of those who have yet to be served. Don’t worry. You can easily go for seconds.
Q. I’m used to a Buffet setting, but what if it’s a formal Sit-Down Dinner? Which fork do I start with again?
A. You’re on your own, pal. Watch “Pretty Woman” again.

sari-saring kwento
Wow..it’s been a month since I updated..sensha na po sa mga nagbabasa ng blog ko,di naman sa wala ako updates but I find it hard lang talaga to write..magbasa lang ng e-mails ubos na oras ko..hehe!
Anyways…we’re really on full blast preparations na..nakakatuwa kasi Rudolf is so much involve na although lagi pa rin niyang sinasabi pag tinanong ko siya about something..”ikaw bahala mahal..mas alam mo yan..” ngek! Na-appreciate ko pa rin yung involvement niya.
Madami pa kami gagawin, we’re doing it one at a time..ayoko masyado ngaragin sarili ko sa preps baka naman come my wedding day..di nako makilala ng mga guests namin..kasi pag iisipin ko lahat ng loads ko..gusto ko na himatayin..nagkataon pa na may concert kami sa cebu on January 22..almost all of the details and work nasa akin..haay! at di ako pwede mawala kahit 1 araw sa office..hopefully after that medyo maluwag nako..I’m praying also for someone na magte-take over muna ng ministry na ipinagkatiwala sa akin ng Lord (Young Professionals/Singles) ..even just for a while..habang nagpe-prepare kami for the wedding..sana may ma-burden jan at mag offer na kunin muna..hehe! calling all the singles at LJBC!!!
I’m so overwhelmed of God’s love and blessings..share ko nga kay dolf last devotion namin, nanliliit ako sa mga blessing na tinatanggap namin at alam ko..madami pa hinanda ang Lord. I just have to trust HIM and believe that He can give us the best!
May pants na si dolf!!! Yey! Hehe..sobrang saya ba?..we bought this last Sunday sa SM Manila..for only 579.00. super love niya yung tela kasi malambot at very comfortable siya.like din niya yung fit sa kanya..ang laki na ng tinaba ni dolf..humahabol sa kin..sa sunday we're set to buy his shoes and his barong..ok na sa kanya RTW na barong..pina jusi..blessing din to kasi Kuya joshua said he will pay for it na daw(barong & shoes) o di ba? galing galing talaga ni Lord!
then, we accepted another opportunity to earn extra income for the wedding.answerd prayer din to..na bigay sa amin yung t-shirt printing ng company namin..medyo malaki siya at mako-cover na siguro yung payment sa reception namin..for all those who prayed for us..salamat talaga!
we met with jay kagabi-our photographer, although di pa kami nag down-nasa amin na yung contract..ok na sakin yung service niya..free ang pre-nup at maganda naman gawa niya.I know the Lord will give us yung pambayad sa kanya..mura na nga bigay niya sa akin kasi i've known him for quite sometime na compared dun sa iba.hopefully we could do the pre-nup sometime on march para medyo sunny na.sa parks & wildlife siguro location namin.
Dolf & I wants the best for our wedding but what we desire most is that people who will come will see God's hands working in us and glorify Him..
Wedding preparations can be so deppressing but when God is at the center of it it is very Exciting!!! yun lang muna..more on next!!!

on pamanhikan
yesterday was the day...
last saturday, i was really upset but God embraced me last sunday so umuwi ako sa province na masaya..nauna nako umuwi last sunday afternoon..
monday, just woke up early konting linis and i did the christmas tree..yepee! pasko na sa amin..
si tatay at si nanay ang nagluto ng ulam, adobong baboy, inihaw na tilapya at hito at of course ang aming famous na pinakbet! ( sana nabusog sila..)
actually, ok na kila nay na walang pamanhikan..i remember one of my sister got married without it..but of course ako kasi i would like to give respect to both of our parents that's why i wanted it. at first we were both nervous sa di ko malamang kadahilanan but it went ok naman..wala namang naging problema.
me and rudolf ended our day with praises and thanksgiving to God..nakita namin talaga ang pagkilos ng Lord dito..am so thankful sa lahat ng binigay nya..
am also thankful dun sa mga tao who gave us their time..
thank you kuya mar...kuya allan and kuya jun..
all are leaders in our church..
regalo po kayo ng Diyos sa amin!
although had to admit, i expected some people that i believe were close to us, to be there but for some reasons hindi nakasama..sumama ang loob ko but it's ok..ganun talaga..will just try to understand them.

on feeling sad
i wanted to write badly...no..i want to cry..that's exactly how i feel right now..
i am a bit hesitant of writing it here..pero hello!!! blog ko to..at i can write what i want to write..
i just feel so sad..
this has been my feelings since tuesday...mga rason? di ko na alam which is which...
i guess i'm tired..tired of being strong for everyone..or maybe feeling ko lang to.
i know naman na i am not that strong..pero bakit ganun? di ko maipakita sa kanila kung ano talaga ang nasa loob ko..kung ano naiisip ko..kung ano nararamdaman ko panungkol sa kanila..
sabi ni carmel..maybe God is stretching my faith...i guess so..
sana lang di sumama ng todo ang loob ko.
now..i am beginning to recognize the people that really cares for us..at konti man sila..i thank God for them.. and going through this stage..i am more thankful that i have Rudolf..i have his hand to hold..i have his shoulder to cry on..i have him to make me smile..
and I thank Him also for the kids at maricaban..therapy na rin sila sa akin..kahit matitigas ang mga ulo..kanina when we started singing.medyo nabawasan yung bigat ng loob ko..at nakuha nila talaga ang atensiyon ko.I just love looking at them singing praises to the Lord..at kung meron mang pinakamahalaga sa akin ngayon..yun eh yung mabilan sila lahat ng gifts this christmas and at least put a smile on thier cute faces..i don't know how we will be able to buy them all a gift for they are at least 60 kids.God will provide.FAITH
an officemate of mine had promised 20 toys for boys and girls..counts a lot.
bakit ganun? di ko pa rin maisulat yung gusto ko talaga isulat?
i am a bit hesitant of writing it here..pero hello!!! blog ko to..at i can write what i want to write..
i just feel so sad..
this has been my feelings since tuesday...mga rason? di ko na alam which is which...
i guess i'm tired..tired of being strong for everyone..or maybe feeling ko lang to.
i know naman na i am not that strong..pero bakit ganun? di ko maipakita sa kanila kung ano talaga ang nasa loob ko..kung ano naiisip ko..kung ano nararamdaman ko panungkol sa kanila..
sabi ni carmel..maybe God is stretching my faith...i guess so..
sana lang di sumama ng todo ang loob ko.

from cabanatuan
yeah..i am updating this blog of mine from cabanatuan..been here since wednesday..it was an emergency leave..my mom is sick and i have to go home..thank God she's fine now.She just needs close supervision to keep her blood sugar and blood pressure low. I never knew it could be as serious as this until i was able to talk to her doctor which happens to be my classmate wayback elementary. Her blood sugar was so high it could have caused her blindness and her blood pressure could have caused her a stroke..which i taught she had, kaya talaga namang ninerbyos ako at sumugod ako umuwi..i cried and i was so afraid of the thought that we're gonna lose her na..umiral na naman pag ka praning ko!
Praise God! I know she'll be fine..a lot of prayer had been said for her and God surely listens...
on wedding preps...i was able to visit "Sa lumang bahay" parang ocular na din..and discussed some things with belle-the owner who also manages the place..she's so accomodating..the place is good like what i've said before and finally my father agreed na..so hopefully after the pamanhikan on the 28th..mag full blast na kami sa preparations.
prescy called me last week- she will sponsor my gown talaga!.. ang bait ni Lord..and she said yes na rin as one of my secondary sponsors..kailangan na namin pumayat!
we were able to talk to Pastor Gani na rin, he'll officiate our wedding and has given us lots of encouraging words and tips..counselling with him will start soon na rin..so maybe we will be very busy on the next few months.
ano pa ba nagawa namin? hmnnn..we went to divisoria na rin pala...we scouted some materials for our invitations..maybe we could go back before the end of this month..super hirap na pumunta dun ngayon kasi dami na tao..
gotta go now..nakakalimutan ko may pasyente pala ko..hehe!
miss ko na mahal ko...:(

meeting with pastor boying
last night we went to pastor boying's house, one of our ninong to be and i know it's a good decision for us to get him as our ninong..daming insights and of course words na hindi lang sa kanya kundi alam namin na from the Lord talaga..He will be leaving nga lang soon for a short mission exposure sa Malaysia and when he gets back..start na kami ng counseling..that's gonna be on January and every wednesday schedule namin..dami nang nae-excite sa wedding namin..
ang dami pa rin naming gagawin but one at a time..
I'm having j-mie (a very dear friend of ours and our pastor's dughter) as our coordinator, nag confirm na sha kanina..she'll be coming home from the states on dec.6 and we'll gonna start working on details na.. excited na din sha! :)
ang hindi lang talga exciting ay yung pag alis ni jerly..confirm na kasi.may US Visa na sha..huhu! wala na talaga sha sa wedding.
anyways...gotta go na.will update again soon. (am listenig to "the first time i love forever" at parang gusto ko na umiyak..hehe! baka i'll use na this sa bridal march.)

change of date
notice the daisypath? now it says 6 months and 1 week before our wedding day...yeah..after spending a lot of time in prayer and some serious talks..we finally decided to move it on April..for us not to worry too much of so many things na rin..
initially..i'm quite confused ..I've always thought I'm gonna be a december bride..but God has his own plans..
right now..we're doing fine...we have a venue na rin although pencil book pa lang sha..at least di na sa bahay as my father is insisting..but I do hope everything will push through the way we wanted it..ciempre kami naman yung ikakasal di ba? and at the same time not hurting anyones feelings specially my dad.
haven't had the time to post din kasi am so busy..work and ministry and family...we went home last week to celebrate my moms birthday..medyo di masyado maganda kasi..as usual dami problema..but still i thank God for giving mom another year..and special din kasi it's very seldom na magkakasama sama kaming lahat..with all my siblings and thier kids.
so i'm still on to wedding preps..now i am thinking of giving "save the date" na di ko na inisip pa dati.
at isa pang natuwa ako..I'll have lot's of time to lose some weight pa..hehe! para naman daw mabuhat ako ni rudolf sa kasal namin..
