Weddings and Beyond Expo 2011

It's been a while since my last wedding fair and because I am helping a friend for her wedding, I invited her to go to Wedding Expo last Sunday. . We were only after ring suppliers as this was the only major stuff she haven't booked yet.  True enough, she saw a nice wedding ring design from a major sponsor of the expo but it was way out of her budget so we went looking for other suppliers, and call us wise buyer but she ended up having the same ring design but for a much lesser price :) I will try to make a separate post about it. I think I like the supplier she chose but before I made any rave I have to see the finish product first.

Anyways, so on with the the Expo, it was jam packed because we went the last day and last few hours. There were many people lining up in every photo booth. I guess everyone wants to have their souvenir just like everyone wanting tradeshow giveaways. Of course we are no different and besides our church mate who went with us is really looking for a photo booth supplier for her daughters' 7th birthday. So we ended up trying all the booths. Look at what I've got here;

And my friend ended up wanting one for her wedding too :) It's quite fun and guests would love it for sure. Back when I was preparing for my wedding you won't see such in wedding fairs.

What I notice about this bridal fair : few invitations suppliers, a lot of pictures of Ogie and Regine- Their photographer  was there and so was their caterer.  A lot of wedding venue booths but they are all pricey and high end. Misibis, Fernbrook, Fernwood, Bellarocca, Oasis and a lot more.

What I miss?  booth from W@W :) I am used to seeing them in every bridal fair :)

Faith and Bible Prophecy

For three Sundays of January, our Pastor preached about “Faith” , of course not forgetting to tell the story of men in the bible whose faith in the Lord is extra ordinary. Like Abraham who had faith in the Lord who promised him when he is already 70 years old that he’ll be the father of all nations and that his sons and daughters will be as numerous as the stars in the sky. I believe we should all have faith like that. Believing the things that we have yet to see and knowing in our heart that it will happen someday.
And he also mentioned persons not in the bible but had faith determination to finish and be succesfull in what they do. And I want that “faith determination” too.
Someday soon our dream will come true.
*~*
Anyways, if you are a christian and is looking for some good reading materials, or you may want to read about Bible Prophecy, bobfraleychristianlifeoutreach.com has many titles available, I think his Salt and Light book is very interesting as it is design for equipping the Christians on the last days, they also have “The day that changed America” which I believe not only Christian America should read.
*~*
But right now, I am also looking for some DVBS materials that we could use for the kids this summer and I need also training materials for the new Sunday School teachers we will train next month.

Birthday or Valentine gift

My birthday happens on the same month that we celebrate Valentines day. And ever since we got married and even when we were still engaged I never get any valentine's gift because my birthday comes first and that's pretty fine with me. I never had a problem with that. It really doesn't matter.

This year, I know for sure I'll never get any material gift for my birthday because of the all time gift I had last Christmas and because we have a bigger project this year. But I am considering the trip (mission's conference to Singapore) as a birthday gift to me also. We're going a day after my birthday.

However, looking at Redenvelope.com just a while ago, made me wish I could ask for even one personalized gift for my birthday. But it's okay, I'll make sure I'll get one next year when all the major major expenses are not so major anymore. :)

Plight of our nurses

If you watched "reporter's notebook" ( an investigative/documentary show in GMA 7) last night you've probably saw this particular registered nurse who collects garbage with his cart during the day and then a volunteer nurse at night. Why he collects garbage? because he has to pay for the hospital he's working, he has to pay for him to render his service to that hospital just so he could have that training certificate and be able to apply as a nurse and get paid eventually.

How would you feel if you are the parent and you've spend all your riches (nursing and medical assistant school aren't cheap ) in sending your child to school and end up pushing cart collecting garbage? You'll probably ask a lot of why's. But I tell you, if this nurse keeps on striving and doing his best to sustain his needs and to attain his goals, his on his way to success and I salute him for not all college graduate and registered nurse will do what he does.

I wish though for our government to come up with employment programs for our nurses and not only for nurses but for many Filipinos as well.

Where to rent tuxedos?

If you know where in Makati or Manila I could rent tuxedos, please please let me know ASAP. My two nephews will be having their JS next month and I know a lot will be looking for suits and prom dresses. If only it is Barong or bridesmaid dress I would know who to ask but because we are not (friends and families) used to wearing tux,we are at a loss on where to rent. Buying is not an option because for sure they will only be using it once and I know tuxedos are pricey compared to our local Barong. I can buy one in Divisoria for as low as 350.00.

I'll start my search for the cheapest tuxedo rent now and will update this when I find one.

settled for the meantime

We've finally moved out from the apartment and currently back from where we first lived as husband and wife. At our church mission's house. We will be staying here until the place we are going to occupy is vacated and I hope that won't take long. Coming back here brings back so many memories during our first days as married couple, just like the first days, we do not have our own stove, a fridge or a dining table. We decided not to used some of our stuff for the mean time because using them means we're going assemble them again and when it's time to move again (after a month or so) we have to dis assemble them again. And that I do not want to do so we decided to just use whatever we can use from here. Moving is a head ache, packing and unpacking things is sure to burn more calories than the diet pills you are taking for sure.

So we are settled but not yet back to normal life for the mean time. At least I have internet connection at night and I can do some work at home.

First 201i picture

This was our first picture together for this year. Time was 12:03:20. Next year-I hope I can take picture of us right after the clock struck 12 midnight.

Packing up things

I am sure to burn belly fat this Saturday, why? Because it's our last day in the old house and we will be moving all our stuff, right now we have already six boxes filled and is ready. There are still more to pack. I need not count the many calories I will burn. :)

Actually, working out (walking or running) is in the top of my plans this year, we will just wait for our lives to be settle and be back to it's regular programming because right now, our life is at chaos, packing up things, meetings, plannings and searching for the perfect house it was indeed a messy schedule but as soon as we're settled. I'll seriously do that walking or running.

Detoxification: do you need it?

According to wikipedia;

DETOXIFICATION is the physiological or medicinal removal of toxic substances from a living organism, including, but not limited to, the human body and additionally can refer to the period of withdrawal during which an organism returns to homeostasis after long-term use of an addictive substance. In conventional medicine, detoxification can be achieved by decontamination of poison ingestion and the use of antidotes as well as techniques such as dialysis and (in a very limited number of cases) chelation therapy.

And now a days there are lots of detox centers available. Someone I knew personally went to a detoxification center (I guess we call it rehabilation center also) and It was nice to see him now living a normal drug free life.

But it is not only drugs that poisoned our body, sometimes we get toxins from the food we eat too that's why there are now other kinds of detox such as juice detox and the like. Those who made those kind of detox believe that you'll eliminate and flush out toxins from your body thus making you healthier.

But what if toxins are not taken in form of food or drugs or alcohol? How are we to detoxify from it? Like being addicted to computer games? Do we have detox centers for that?

Minute Maid's Pulpy Real Orange Juice!

I just drank a bottle of Minute Maid Pulpy. They say it’s got ‘no preservatives added’. Aw, c’mon…It’s bottled juice. Is that even possible? So I thought maybe... it's one of those many deceiving advertisement...

I didn’t believe it the first time I heard it’s got no preservatives added.  So I read the ingredients (even the fine print) and everything checked out! It really has NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED!  That means it doesn’t have ingredients that may turn out to be allergens, or worse...carcinogens!  Whew! Now that’s healthy goodness that tastes so good, I... said..maybe I should give it a try and my husband knows that I am not so fond of any bottled juice buy this one is really different!!

So okay, it’s got no preservatives added. That’s really good, right?  Not just because it doesn’t have those icky, harmful ingredients, but it also means... I'm getting the right thing from a juice :)

So far anyone who still has a hard time believing that Minute Maid has got no preservatives added - meaning it's THAT natural, it's almost like it's plucked straight from the tree, it's just as Mother Nature wanted your orange juice to be, it's got nothing but the good stuff yes, none of those potentially toxic stuff that can harm your brain, kidneys, heart; cause tumors aargh- the list of preservatives' bad effects just go on!!! Anyway, just to prove a point on just how good Minute Maid Pulpy is 'cause it's got NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED, I'm gonna include this one in my grocery items :) Very good source of vitamins because you are having the real thing.

Feels good to know about the real pulpy deal, right? C’mon show me a smile on the comment box, and you might win yourself a Really Pulpy Deal! (That’s a chance to win a Minute Maid gift pack simply by commenting. Sweet! C'mon you just might be picked as the lucky 'commentor'!)

Love,

Rocks :)

Home Ideas

I'm sure that will be on top of my search list this year as we start planning and preparing for the project house which I will be calling "home sweet home".

And I really can't wait to that time where I will be decorating our own home. where I will be buying stuff for our own bedroom, for my own kitchen. It's beginning to sound so exciting!!

And I know, when it comes to home ideas I have very little knowledge so I need to do a lot of searching especially to maximizing space and such. I don't even know something about interior plantation shutters just learned about it a while ago and I'm sure I won't be needing such, maybe blinds but not a shutter.

And oh..my eyes are feasting on so many beautiful bathroom designs. I hope I'll have one of them someday.

CHANGE OF PLANS

The past week was a week of deciding for me and the husband and decision making isn't always a nice job. When you are deciding, you need to weigh a lot of things and sometimes it becomes stressful. Good thing we're past over it now.

As you all know, we are moving out this year and our initial plan was to rent a place for me and hubby here in the Metro but turn of events made us decide other wise.

Now, we are moving in my sister's place in Bulacan and for some it raises some questions but I know it's the best decision we came up to. For one, we wouldn't be renting for at least 18 months and the money we will spend for the rent will go directly to the PROJECT HOUSE fund which is our biggest project this year and I guess for the rest of our married life.

The only downside is that I will spend more time on the road everyday because of work. I do not want to risk hubby's life so he wouldn't be taking me to the office with our motorbike everyday. I don't want to have unnecessary expenses if ever, road and Offshore Accidents do happen everyday and I certainly do not want that.

So, another BIG CHANGE in our life. I just hope I am able to cope up with all the changes coming our way this 2011.

New beginnings, changes, home and a pet

This year brings a lot of changes for me and the husband. One of the major change is that we're moving and will really start living on our own. No housemates, just the two of us, for that part I am excited.

And maybe it's time for us to get a pet, my husband is an animal lover, dog or cat or birds or fish, he loves them all and for sure he would want to have one. He actually wants a dog last year but I declined because I have to consider other people in the house. Now I might say yes.

And even if we don't have that space on the house that we're going to move in, at least we can buy dog crates online. I just hope it's not that expensive. I know that having pets at home somewhat lessen the stress, and I guess it's just right for me who's always tired from whole days work. Oh and I read online that provigil is good for tiredness, haven't tried it though.

Indeed, I expect more changes in the way we live this year. I expect changes in our sleeping and eating habits. I also expect changes in the way we handle our finances. I hope and pray that all of this will really happen and that we would live a better life this year, much much better that 2010.

First Post for 2011

and it's the 3rd of January. I had no internet access at home and that explains why.

It's actually good not having internet all the time. I have time to read and watch movies at home.

I'm so glad we started the year right. By  starting it right means we prayed together on the first morning of 2011 and prayed together again on the first night of 2011 and I hope we can keep that up, praying together every night.

This year, hubby and I want to FOCUS on the LORD more, spent more time with the Lord. It's my first devotion for the year.

I know when we do that, the stress and problems this life gives us becomes vague because we see God so clear.

I hope you all had  a wonderful start of new year too!!
