A rustic burlap theme wedding

Rustic is my current favorite. Seems like I'm loving everything about it. I'm imagining a house with rustic garden, a wooden swing, tin pots and all.

So imagine how I gasp when I walked to this wedding held in Sta Elena Gold Club, Sta Rosa, Laguna last Feb.28. Remember the wedding I mentioned in my last post? this was it and the venue and styling is beautiful! The bride has nothing to do with it, she said it was the mother of the groom who styled and decided about almost everything :) one spoil bride!
I love the seat cover!

and the table runner!

centerpiece :)

lovely bouquet isn't it?

 gift to us!

and here is the beautiful bride with her equally beautiful bridal bouquet!

It was a wonderful wedding ( I guess I say that to all the weddings I went too-because each wedding is uniquely wonderful!)  not to mention the food served by Sta Elena was delightful.

Love is in the air :)

It was a privilege working with this couple. She was the most organized bride I ever had :D every little detail is written with clear instruction. Working with her is so easy and I enjoyed it so much plus the fact that she is our Ninong's daughter.

Remembering the golden wedding

Today is my parents 58th wedding anniversary, Tatay will celebrate it in heaven though. The last celebration they had together was in 2013-their 55th. I am grateful how their marriage stood the test of time, the many trials (including the long wait for a child- they had my eldest sister after 10 years) the hardship of rearing 4 children, sending us to school and a lot more.

I am thankful we were aBle to celebrate their 50th last 2008.

I am missing them both.

Paper rosette or medallions as wedding decor

spending some sleepless nights for these paper decorations,I will use this for a wedding on Friday. I don't mind the effort and the lack of sleep. I enjoy naman doing such DIY decor ..and besides it's like therapy na rin for me. It somehow takes my mind off the loneliness and the office work.

Do you like them? Obviously the wedding colors are red and yellow. I am also making lots of paper pompoms. I will post how the place will look like when these are all up there.

I hope it turns out beautiful.

7th wedding anniversary :)

(Late wedding anniversary post)

I can't believe it was 7 years ago when I made that walk in the red carpet.I can still remember how I managed not to cry while walking. I smiled all through out while my husband sang a song he specially composed for that day. I was the happiest girl that day.  I dream of a beautiful wedding but God gave me more than that. He even chose the best husband for me.

Seven years. It's like we were only married for a year :) naks! honeymoon stage pa rin?

I love you mahal and I will always will!!!

55th Wedding Anniversary

Today, my dearest parents are celebrating their 55th year of marriage. I am a proud daughter. Who wouldn't? I know what they've gone through. I know it wasn't all sweet and smooth but I am proud and happy they chose to be together and honor the commitment they made 55 years ago.

Happy 55th Wedding Anniversary to the most wonderful parents in the world. we love you!

"Cord of Three" Wedding Rings

We’ve been planning to buy a new set of wedding rings for us ( our rings doesn’t fit us anymore plus we both want them replace talaga ten  years from our wedding date) You see, ours  was not the pricey wedding ring but nonetheless, it was a symbol of our infinite love for each other (naks!) so I’ve learned to like them na.

But if only I had money when we got married I’ll definitely choose one that I love-I’ll go for unique wedding bands like this three cord wedding ring! Three cord was mentioned in the bible . Ecclesiastes 4:12 says “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Very fitting for a Christian wedding right? How I wish I can have those. But who knows?  Looking at the prices of these unique wedding rings, I know they are not cheap (if you convert them into pesos) but they are not too pricey either. If we really want it and save for it, I know we can have them in the near future Think positive Raquel  :D  I can even order them online if I want and they have a 30 day risk free return policy.

This one of a kind wedding symbol is hand -braided and designed by a very talented artist Todd Alan. Imagine how painstakingly he makes each ring so customers are assured that each ring is unique. Any bride would be delighted to be wearing them :D

Now, I have to print these, get my husband’s approval and pin it on our prayer wall.

In love with weddings

My wedding photographer posted one of our pictures in his facebook page which made me look into more wedding pictures last night and I enjoyed it so much especially those of my friend's wedding pictures.

I so love wedding. I wish of getting married again someday (to the same guy of course) a renewal of vows perhaps and only if money is not a problem, no doubt a garden wedding it will be just like my wedding seven years ago (because I love an outdoor wedding) with only my family and closest friends in attendance :) No harm in dreaming right?

I'll get inspiration from  Orange County estate wedding and events, wish I can have an event in  The Folly because it is so intimate and as I have said I love the garden type :) here's a picture.

Isn't it lovely there? I can imagine how romantic the exchange of vows can be and  oh the many beautiful pictures you can take :D  Visit their facebook page EstateWeddingandEvents for more beautiful weddings and corporate venues as well.

April Wedding-Mostly DIY

I realized I haven’t been posting about weddings here for quite sometime now and to think that this used to be our wedding blog and most of my posts from before are about weddings..

I coordinated a dear friend’s wedding last April, she started preparing last year and I gave her ideas on what she can DIY for her wedding day. And this is what she came up to.

The wedding Cord:

And the luminaries which I think is beautiful! I love the glow of the orange light in the dark. She painstaking made all of these luminaries.

Hats off to the bride! :)
And should I say hats off to me and to my husband also for doing this canopy?

Although it was not as beautiful as I wanted it to be, still hats off to him, he needed a trailer hitch to transport all of the materials and he assembled it under the heat of the sun..

and last but not the least..hats off to me and to Jemay for doing the table set up (table napkins with a rose) also under the scorching heat of the sun!

Still wanting my dream wedding rings

Last month, I accompanied a friend in a bridal fair to check on wedding ring designs, true enough there were many beautiful designs and we both fell in love with all the two colored ring designs. She ended booking their ring supplier there and got super big discounts for the rings.

She chose a yellow and white gold twisted together with 6 small stone. It is beautiful and for the price it's a good deal.

Maybe not as nice as moissanite rings I've seen but it is still a good buy.

Ours was even cheaper and lack luster compared to what she have chosen,When I made my suppliers rating after our wedding, it was one of the thing I mentioned, that I wanted a much nicer ring for us and that I have a dream wedding ring that I wanted for us.

And I am still dreaming of that wedding rings. We will be turning 5 this year and I am still not getting it, who knows on our 6th or 7th? Or on our 10th? I'll just keep on dreaming.

Guestbook Idea

Tired of the ordinary guest book you see in weddings or parties? You want something unique? Well, this guest book tree is nice! We will actually try to do to do this in one of my friend's wedding come February. I forgot where we saw this photo (google for sure) but I forgot the exact site so I do not know whom to give credit..(sorry for that) but it's not mine. I just fell in love with this idea.

Wedding Gown Inspiration

This is an inspiration for my friend's wedding gown and since the lace is expensive she's thinking if she can use chiffon instead. I like it! It is so nice. Having the green grass and trees as background is awesome too! And because hers is also a garden wedding we are hoping we can get good pictures too.

We also have the designs for her entourage but unfortunately I do not have the pictures. Tangerine is her wedding color, at first she’s hesitating but when she saw nice dresses in the internet she’s settled for it. We also browsed at different prom dresses and formal dresses to see if she’d like something. I also loved all the designs she have chosen. I just hope the dressmaker will also do well.

Wedding / Birthday / Party Favors

Looking for party favors for any occasions? here's what we have been given for several birthdays and weddings and parties from my part.

For my friends baby shower, we gave out towel lollipops which I personally made. I am actually thinking of towel cupcake but I only have little time.

For my nephews first birthday, we will be giving our acrylic ref magnets, which I will also DIY. And it will cost me half of the price we paid for the ref magnets using magnetic sheets.

A personalized tumbler is also a nice favor. For sporty people,a personalized baseball bats is a great idea!

I saw also a customized woven bag with the birthday celebrant picture printed in it. it's so nice.

And all of these- I am making soon! As me and hubby will be investing in some printing machine that makes all of this kind of printing. Excited!

Marriage counseling

Last night I stayed up late with a friend I am helping with the wedding preparation and I somewhat ended up “counseling” her about marriage life. Well, most of the things I said were also from the counseling sessions we had before our wedding and of course most are from personal experience such as how important it is to spend quality time together.

Which made me wonder, is being married for four years enough for me to be able to counsel and have a say about married life? I guess no because even if it’s been four years, I can still feel we are just starting and that we are still on the process of learning about married life.

Well, as I have said, I ended up “counseling” her and from the looks of it I thinks she learned something from the conversation and hopefully I imparted some good points about getting married and all.

For my married readers, how long have you been married? Do you find yourself sometimes counseling others who are getting married or those who are newlyweds?

Did you have counseling sessions too before getting married? Wanna share some tips for those who are getting married?

McDonalds wedding in Manila

I saw this article last night from the W@W website and I tell you I was like..is this for real? and yes it was.

The couple apparently loved the said fastfood and decided to treat their wedding guests there. It was nice and very unique!! They even have their wedding cake shaped in a big hamburger :)

"With “I do’s” already exchanged, the newly-married couple treated their guests to the brand of fast food that they both love. Yes, the wedding reception – or “recess,” as the couple likes to call it – took place at a McDonald’s branch along Alabang-Zapote road."

and you can watch the onsite Video HERE.
