Health /PCOS Update

I am planning to see a doctor (OB) again, after a year and a half of just letting it go, pass by and wait if I can be pregnant without any aid or medicines. I don’t know. I am so frustrated and a part of me doesn’t want to go to the doctor still. Just thinking of the money and the stress I will have to go through. But I know also that I need to see a doctor. I’m still looking for a good but not so expensive OB-Gynecologist, if only money is not a big issue with us I’ll probably choose the best one there is.

I’m still over weight, hubby actually noticed this morning that I am getting bigger. Well, for one I stopped dieting, I don’t take any diet pill or slimming supplements. My only exercise now is going up to my office which is in 3rd floor walking and going down again in the afternoon. I know I did not take my losing weight seriously. And I don’t want to say I am going to exercise and diet again. Promises..promises.

You see, I stopped dieting but I actually learned to eat the right way now, not a lot of sugars, small amount of everything, no midnight snacks, and we learn to get away with oily foods too. We boil instead of frying.

But I guess the PCO syndrome is really making it hard for me to lose weight. But still I am thankful I don’t have all the side effects of it like having so much hair, acne, diabetes, and etc.

I will give it a try for the second time. I don’t have much time left I am getting old and if I still don’t bear a child, well God knows BEST!

If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him, and never say its not quite as good as his mothers

... . .. then buy a dog.

If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour,
for as long and wherever you want ...

... . .. then buy a dog.

If you want someone who will never touch the remote,
doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies

... . .. then buy a dog.

If you want someone who is content to get on your bed just to warm your feet and who you can push off if he snores

... . .. then buy a dog!

If you want someone who never criticizes what you do,
doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually . . .

... . .. then buy a dog.

BUT, on the other hand . .

If you want someone who will never come
when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness . . ....

. . .
then buy a cat!

Life is changing

It's been a busy busy week for me, I have been coming to work much earlier than my usual time and coming home later than the usual time also. Evenings had been busy too, last Tuesday was my brother in law's birthday and last night was worship team fellowship. Our schedule of waking up is getting better..that's the nicest part of it! I've been waking up at seven in the morning since Monday! Hubby is doing the same too which is a lot better.

By the way, have I told you guys that I have been terminated from work? yes, I was given until the 9th of August actually.

I feel bad and not bad at the same time. I know I still have work ( sorry it's a bit complicated) but definitely schedules and perks will change.

I only wish I will have time to rest before moving on to the other fence.

Go home to province and meditate and think and plan and just relax and enjoy. Or be with the husband 24/7, do ministry together, hang out with friends, look for store sale together or just stay at home and watch old movies. I miss doing those stuff. Sigh. I hope I really can do that.

For the meantime, it's reality world and my reality is that I have loads of work today.

This was at The loft, Manansala Rockwell. For my boss' 50th birthday. I couldn't get any party supplier because it was so rush so I decided to do it.

I bought swags and lanterns too!!

We're getting ready for our small business soon!!

I thought it was a road accident

I just wrote something about getting our motorbike insured the last day, yesterday imagined how shocked I was when hubby came to pick me up at the office with a big bruised and cut in his right arm. My initial reaction was he had an accident along the way. As I was preparing my self for the accident story, he then told me that it was not a road accident but yes it was because of the motorbike. I took a sigh of relief. I think I should get him an insurance now, a life insurance or health insurance or whatever it is that would help us if something bad happen which I hope and pray not.

10 ways to make a bedroom better for sleeping

by : ivillage_manageyourlife
source : yahoo life

Our bedrooms should be calm, peaceful escapes from the bustle and pressure of the everyday world. All too often, though, the stresses of the day find their way into the very places where we are meant to be the most relaxed. Such intrusions contribute to insomnia, which can lead to major health difficulties. A few easy changes can remove distractions from your bedroom and help sleep come easier.

Combat late-night problems by making your bedroom a safe, peaceful place to relax and sleep. Start with these 10 simple ideas:

1. Get the television out.
Move the television from your bedroom and place it in an entertainment center in the family room or living room. Watching TV in bed inhibits good sleep.

2.
Move the computer. Likewise, move the computer into a home office, or at least into its own nook in the room or den. Remove the stress and worry of your work from the place where your focus should be relaxing and sleeping.

3.
Choose the right colors.
Color theory dictates that different shades have different effects on people. Cool colors, those from the left side of the color wheel, are thought to provide a sense of calm. Choose one of these for the bedroom, and avoid bright, loud colors that are more exciting than soothing.

4.
Eliminate excess noise. Make sure that rooms adjacent to the bedroom are not home to stereos, televisions or other noisy electronics. Most modern homes don't have completely soundproofed walls, and the bleed-through noise can keep you awake.

5.
Keep out the light. Select light-blocking
window treatments . Even though the sun isn't out, plenty of light can sneak into the bedroom from outside, disrupting your sleep patterns. Keeping the room as dark as possible is especially important for people whose work schedules require them to sleep during the day.

6.
Add a little light. If you need a little light to sleep comfortably, consider adding a couple of nightlights or a dimmer switch rather than sleeping with a lamp on all the time.

7.
Check your pipes. Loud pipes might be waking everyone in the house when one person makes a bathroom visit in the middle of the night. Look for the cause of any clanging and banging, particularly in a bathroom that is adjacent to a bedroom.

8.
Seal the doors and windows. Make sure doors and windows are solid and secure, with no drafts or rattles.

9.
Clean the air. Use an air purifier or humidifier to keep air quality at its best. Allergens and excessively dry air can interrupt sleep and make waking up unpleasant, too. As a bonus, many machines create a white noise that drowns out other, distracting sounds.

10.
Get organized. Organize closets and keep clothing and other personal items in their places. A chaotic, messy room is stressful to the mind. Don't try to fall asleep with your eyes darting around the room, spotting shoes and clothes scattered all over the floor. Sleep well, knowing that everything is in its place.

The ADT protection

I’m sure every one of us wants to feel protected most of the time, especially when we have kids that are being left at home when we go to work. I’m sure I’ll be a worry rat when I have to do that also. I tend to be a paranoid and hubby knows that. I remember reading a news item one time about a caregiver beating up an old man whom she was supposed to take care of. Good thing the daughter installed home video surveillance and from there she was able to witness all the beatings and maltreatment her father is getting from his caregiver.

I would love to do that also when I do have my own home already.

I already had an experience with ADT home security few years ago, our office which is also our boss home is armed with that kind of security. And I know how safe she feels even when she is out of home most of the time. Money can’t buy sleep they say but it helps you get a decent sleep when you know you are protected so installing ADT is worth it.

Whether for your home or for your business which remind me we have it also now in one of our offices, I guess the bosses wants to monitor their employees also even whey they are not in the office, I’m sure having this is like having an insurance. You feel secured and protected.

But then, nothing can ever surpassed the protection we get knowing that the Lord is always there to protect us.

Motorbike insurance

Would anyone know if we need insurance for our motorbike? It’s been with us for two years now and we used it everyday. Hubby brings and picks me up at the office with it. We ride it when we go to my sister’s house, when we go to malls and to friend’s house. It is very convenient but I get worried when I hear news of motorcycle accidents happening almost everyday. Although I know hubby is a good driver I am still wondering if do we need to get one so I can start asking for auto insurance quotes or something like that. Are there any insurance companies that insure a motorbike or only cars?

Maybe I should start calling.

Fellowship Moments!!

It’s good to gather with friends once in a while.

We used to do it once a week way back when we are all still single but now that most of us are already married we try to do it at least once a month or when there is an occasion to celebrate. We’ve been friends for a long time and we hope to be friends forever. You know when you’re with friends you notice you’re not getting any younger because of your topics, now a days we often talk of owning homes and business. We haven’t talked of business insurance though.

So last month, we went to Cogeo again for two birthday celebration and a baby shower. We had fun! The boys lost again in our bible pictionary game.

Group picture minus Venus who as usual went home early

Playing games

The boys lost so that's their consequence

This month we’re going to Alabang for our godchid’s second birthday. Can’t wait!!

I cooked Menudo!

It was last Saturday, I actually craved for my Mom's menudo but it was impossible to ask her to cook for me so I ended up cooking it myself with a help from my brother in law since I have no idea of the ingredients. So here's what I had;

1/2 kilo of pork
1/2 kilo of pork liver
1 pouch tomato sauce
1 liver spread
1 big carrots
2 medium size potatoes
onion
garlic
pepper

I sauteed onion and garlic in margarine ( have no butter eh) then the pork which I marinated in soy sauce and then the liver. After few minutes I put in the liver spread, the tomato sauce, the carrots and potatoes and then pepper and salt to taste. I let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes and it's done. I love it!! Hubby loved it to the max! Sayang I forgot to take a picture of it.

Health issues

After being sick for almost a week this month I’m trying to stay as healthy as I can now. I am quite big but I am not that healthy I know. That PCO syndrome is one of those health problems I have. It’s hard to get sick specially when you don’t have any health care provider except for the government’s Philhealth. I wish our office can give us some health benefits. Or if only I could I’ll have one for me and for hubby.

I have actually inquired to Blue Cross already, most of our bosses are into Blue Cross so I know they’re good, I just don’t know if they are as good as Blue Cross North Carolina. But I know they are easy to talk to.

But for now that I can’t still afford it, like I have said, I am trying my best to stay healthy. I’m taking Fern-C at the moment, also a ferrous sulfate because my last CBC resulted to “severe anemia” and also I am drinking Vitaplus which is also a health drink.

With all those supplements I am feeling a lot better now.

Cash for Gold

I remember when I was still young and we still live in the province, I often hear man/woman shouting while wandering the streets, why shout? because they do sell almost everything from bread to fruits, vegetables, the famous taho (soya) and other stuff. Now there is also someone who would shout something like this “buying old and broken watches and buying golds”. Mom used to sell old and broken watches to him.

Now that we live in the city, I don’t hear them anymore except the taho guy.

And selling gold is now entirely different. You can now just send your gold and then wait for your money, only you have to choose the safe one. There are lots of cash for gold sites out there so make sure you studied and weighed all your options. I think gold-cash.com is a safe one, why? because they have their 100% satisfaction guaranteed seal which you don’t see in some other sites. It is important to be well informed when you are dealing with money matters so if I were you I’ll go for the safe ones.

Missing Farm Town

I planted sunflowers - gone to waste, planted wheat- gone to waste, planted strawberries-gone to waste. That has been the life in my farm now eversince we lost internet at home. It's like I'll play today and not for a week. I planted again rice which I hope I can harvest today before it go to waste again for the nth time.

Good thing the animals in the farm are not dependent to the farm owner, otherwise all my chickens and horse and sheep will be dead now. At least there you don’t need to feed them and give them anything like cattle supplies. I am not really a good farmer I know. But guess what, I am dreaming of my own farm someday, with trees (yup! something like the faceboook farmtown), crops, cattle, chicken, and a nice farm house.

I wonder if I can harvest my crop now.

Anawangin revisited

We went to Zambales again last June 21, we planned this trip so Liz (a youth missionary fro the US ) can see a bit of our country side. I hope I did not fail her. We stayed in Megan’s resort, we chose the cheapest room we can stay in, and guess what it’s really basic, there were 2 beds and a CR, there is a built in bamboo table outside where we used as the kitchen. We are the only people in the resort so that’s nice.

(Our cabin)
We went to Anawangin cove for a day trip. After negotiating with the boat man and applying loads of SPF lotion not wrinkle cream of course, off we went to the cove.

(On our way to the boat ride- Pundaquit river)

It is still beautiful!! I think the lake is even more beautiful now. The sad thing is there is an additional lot where there are few tables and huts. Obviously this place is becoming so popular thus the additional huts. There were no people except us. We have the entire island for ourselves. We really enjoyed it, well not to mention the big waves that scared me to death. The boat we rented is a smaller boat compared to what we rented before.

I’m sure I’ll be back again to Anawangin, I want to stay overnight again and camp there. It’s so peaceful and so calm. I am really in love with the place.

Fish SPA

Cost is 120.00 for 20 minutes plus the entrance to the Manila Ocean park..That's too pricey for me, thanks to the generosity of friends I was able to experience it. I was so hesitant at first, I really do not want to put my feet down..scared of the hungry fish on the water but you get used to it in a while (yeah just when I am getting used to it the boy then called us and said our time is over..tsk..tsk)

Fish Spa or Doctor Fish- how it works? what benefits? Well, they said they eat the dead skin cells but for more information here's the wikipedia link.

And here's our pictures!!!

Manila Ocean Park

Entrance Fee : 400.00 for adults
If you live in Manila you get 10% discount. Yay for my ID addressed in Manila.
For kids : 350.00 ( If I am not mistaken)

I think it's sulit na for 360.00, you get to enjoy a lot of sea creatures you don't see so often. I hope all my nieces and nephews can visit all together one time. It would be fun!!

We went there June 24 which is holiday in Manila, there are only few people there actually.

That's us in front of Ocean Park, the scary spider crab, and the spotted garden eel.

J-mie and me, I didn't dare touch the star fish, and more ocean lovely creatures.

That's a shark (yes the one in the embryo or egg?) , you can not take pictures with flash so pardon the blurry and not so good pictures, of course I only have a point and shoot camera so that's understandable. hehe!

next pictures : FISH SPA!!!

Will catch up

Things are not yet okay with me, this past few days are horrible. That explains why there are no entrecard drops, no blog visits, no blog entries and all. But I decided to just blog to at lease ease the burdens and stuff I have.

I already have here in my USB loads of pictures from several happenings we had in the past few weeks. I hope I can upload them all to facebook later today.

For the meantime here's my list of to blog :

1. Manila Ocean Park - done!!!
2. My very first FISH SPA experience
3. Anawangin revisited
4. Liz (our youth missionary from USA) farewell party.
5. Young professionals (now young couples) fellowship also Michelle's baby shower.

So you see? even I am sick or I feel sick right at the moment there are still good stuff happening around me from time to time, well except for this week I guess. Anyways, will try to do all those blog entries this week.

HAve a nice day everyone!
