When was the last time you said I love you?

We had a valentine party for the couple in our church last Friday Night, there was a compatibility game where the host asks the couple the same questions and see if they could answer it correctly..It’s funny how the batch of “young once” tried to go back down memory lane and remember a particular date or place like “where was your first date?” or what was the first ”lihi” food your wife asked from you?.”

These couples have been married 15 years and above so I understand how it’s hard for them to remember everything specially the guys. I said nga to my hubby.."you know mahal..we will not gonna win that kind of game".. because I knew hubby is not good in remembering dates and places and the many first things in our relationship.

But what made me sad was..during the batch of “young ones” –meaning couples married 15 years and below..and I see that these are our batches. Ate Becca asked them, when was the last time you said I love you to your wife?

Some answered, yesterday, some said a while ago but one guy answered “last new year”..ouuch…I said to my self..how sad..Hubby may forget our first date, our first meal or even our anniversary..but everyday he make it a point to say his I love you’s to me..upon waking up, while eating..when he take me to office..every chance he could get..and I do the same..and for me..that’s important..I love it when from out of nowhere he would just say "I love you mahal".

An expression of love verbally is important in any relationship. I believe we woman always need an assurance that we are loved..and don’t you think hearing them so often form your husband is one precious gift we can have?

So how about you? when was the last time you said I love you to your significant other?

Renz Pokemon Party

Just wanna share this birthday party with you all, and to my N@wie friends, though this is only my nephew's party, ako naman nag plan and execute lahat so might as well share na rin..and sorry because this was last August of 2007 pa. This is one low budget party lang pero it turned out so nice at super enjoy ang mga kids.

Invites : I asked a former officemate to do the lay-out, just gave him the picture and the wordings, bought photo paper sa CDR king then ako na nagprint.

Venue : Caritas Manila
Ok naman venue, suki na sis ko ditto because it’s very near in their place. Small venue lang,can accommodate yata up to 100 or less. The cost..very mimimal lang. if I remember it right pag aircon, 600 per hour, pag non-aircon, 300 per hour. And free pa ang chairs and tables ha.

Theme : Pokemon party

My nephew loves Pokemon so much, and that time super uso ang Pokemon, so ang dami ko nabiling item sa divisoria.pero lahat ng décor kami lang ng hubby ko ang gumawa. Of course with all the help I can get from the internet

Entrance décor : Welcome to renz Pokemon Island..idea ko pero si hubby ang nag execute.

Backdrop : Made by my hubby too, good thing he has talent sa styro craft. medyo di lang pantay ang pagkalagay.
Cake : Kitchenkrafts

Gift ko ito sa kanya and he really liked it, specially si “Balbasaur” ang topping..favorite nya kasi yan and the minicupcakes..super natuwa talaga ang mga kids.

Giveaway/lootbags for the kids-DIY. I searched and searched over the internet and was able to find this printable DIY lootbag from this site. I made 80 pieces yata, I printed different pokemon characters and ask my nephew to color them,very personalized kasi the birthday boy ang namili ng characters and he worked on it talaga. Contents : pokemon cards, pokemon toys, pokemon button pin and pokemon small book.

Me and hubby also made the Pikachu hats and all the other styro decor. Medyo mahaba-haba lang na preparation because halos DIY lahat but it's always worth it.Next time, I know I would do it again and siempre this time mas maganda na because I know some DIY Balloon decor na. Thanks sa internet.

a fruitful weekend

Happy Monday morning everyone!

How’s your weekend? Well, mine was indeed a fruitful one…timing with the Sunday Message in our church.

I was out practically the whole day of Saturday with two of my friends whose getting married soon. We went to Paco Park in the morning to have Lester & Jerlyn’s (kunwari) pre-nuptial since this is not included in their package. Carmel and I volunteered to do the honor..hehe! saying that I don’t have the copies of the pics yet but will post it here as soon as Jerlyn’s approved it. We only used her point and shoot digial camera but I believe we were able to capture some good shots din,though not all of them are good..kasi naman Lester is so stiff..haha! di sanay mag artista..after that we had an early lunch in Robinsons Manila.

Later in the afternoon naman, we went to Teatrillo in Intramuros, we had food tasting with Eloquente, this one is for Carmel and Andrew’s wedding naman on June 6. And since I am the one who got married first, I am now their appointed wedding coordinator..which I so loved siempre. I enjoyed my wedding preps too much and I’m enjoying helping these friends of mine too.

I don’t know, they have not decided on having Eloquente yet, but I guess they’ll go for them,kasi the package is good plus the foods are ok naman. The only thing they’re not ok yata is the additional fee for the ceremony. I understand kasi these two are both full time missionaries so they are really on a budget wedding. Hope we can have some discount kahit sa ceremony set-up lang.

After that, we had the regular practice for our church worship team. It’s a bit tiring somehow and I don’t feel so good because of the colds but it’s very fulfilling.

Sunday, of course we went to church..later in the afternoon, Jerlyn’s entourage had the first fitting. Did I mention that my sister is doing the entourage gowns as well as the mothers?

After the fitting..I rested and slept till 6 pm..I still have colds now and headache but I think I’m re-charge for the whole week.again..happy monday mornign everyone!

DIY Balloon Decor

I couldn’t sleep last night…

Was home at around 11:00 PM from Direk Bert De leon's show at Hard Rock Café –no, it was not a valentine date or dinner..rather it was a valentine work for me.

And so while hubby is going gaga over this racing game on his mobile phone, I took out the 10 pieces small balloons I bought later that afternoon and made him look for my handy balloon inflater which took us mga 15 minutes pa before we were able to figure out saan namin nilagay. Haay..may memory gap na yata kami pareho.

I was greatly inspired by Kathy's entry to her blog about their DIY balloon décor on her daughter 1st birthday. I learned that she enrolled herself in youtube university so I enrolled myself too.

And here’s my first project finished at around 1:30 AM

high hopes

I still feel weak today but a lot better than yesterday.

I have to cut my office work at 11:00 AM yesterday because I suddenly felt so weak, I threw up many times and I was so cold.

So I rushed home and tried to rest after answering some pahabol phone calls from the office..you see..I really have no right to get sick…

Hubby was so worried, he keep on asking if there is any pain…actually I wonder why I feel so weak and kept on vomiting pero I don’t feel any pain in the stomach or anywhere..

So..the result of all this vomiting-all the people around us suspected I might be pregnant. It’s funny and it’s so wishing..kasi ako mismo was in high hope and whispering..sana nga..sana nga. Even one of my boss clapped pa when I told him I have to go home because I don’t feel good..sabay sabi..”buntis ka na?” haay talaga…

But it’s weird, this morning I woke up and surprised that I don’t feel any panlalamig ng sikmura…I don’t feel throwing up at all..but still weak because I think I got so tired yesterday.

I just had a preg test last Saturday and it’s negative..

I don’t think I’m ready to have another test this weekend..but I’m planning to have one next weekend.

Sana nga..magdilang anghel lahat ng tao sa paligid ko..:)

Food tasting with Jerlyn

My very good friend Jerlyn’s here already.. 3 weeks before her wedding..yay!

Yesterday, we went food tasting at Pearl Garden Hotel their chosen venue, so far she liked the place naman, I’m quite worried before because I know it’s different when you see things in personal and not only thru websites or pictures, We booked Pearl Garden while she was still in Georgia.

This is Pearl Garden's function room, it's an L type and can accomodate up to 200 guests.

And all their wedding things, she only got to finally touch and was able to take a closer look only yesterday, the invitations, the pouches, the barongs and all.

I believe she’s quite satisfied naman specially with the food from pearl Garden, except for the lentil soup which she eventually decided to change.She opted na lang for the creamy crab and corn soup.

This is the moonriver restaurant located at the 2nd floor, where we had our food tasting..

I like the chicken cordon bleu and the beef with broccoli…although looks like its broccoli with beef..sa sobrang dami ng broccoli nila. Hehe! But over all masarap naman ang food nila.

I'll se if they will deliver again after Jerl's wedding. The first wedding I had there was Raffy and Sharon's wedding and haven't had any bad feedbacks naman.Hope they'll do better this time because Jerlyn and Lester are very dear friends of mine.

Feeding Frenzy

Nope, this is not about that game where you feed your fish in aquarium but this is what we did last Friday night till Sunday evening.

Friday was my birthday and though I’m very much married now, my ever loving sister made sure they’ll have something pa rin for my birthday and this time, she and mom made spaghetti and ube halaya (which was so yummy) made from the real ube crops transported pa from our province. I am blessed to have such sweet family.

And since our Pastor Mar and I have the same birthdate, double celebration din kami sa center. Friday night, after the prayer meeting, eating to the max kami, our Head Pastor gifted us with a very delicious cake from Becky’s Kitchen, one of the most yummy cake I ever tasted! so love the coffee taste of it.

And I made fruit salad..na pinag fiestahan ng mga boys, specially hubby and neil.
And there were also other foods na gift from other church members, kilawin, gatang tilapia, laing,pansit and many more.

Hubby and I feasted on the cake and salad till Saturday.

To all those who made this feeding frenzy memorable..thank you so much from the bottom of my stomach..este my heart. Love you all!!!

on alarm clocks and waking up

Just a quick note before I go home..yes I do blogging at the office..and yes you can conclude that I am a bad employee.

I wish we have dsl connection at home so I can update there but up to this time, I guess the application still pending. We have terminated the Smart bro connection months ago for oh so many reasons…

That means I still have at least an hour and a half here.

Today, I came in late..oh no..I really am a bad employee..haha! that’s why I was never a model employee even once.. I am late because I woke up late. I was actually shocked when I opened my eyes at 8:45 on our clock.

Kasi naman, I slept late again, around 1 AM na yata, spend time chatting with Lester and hubby while finishing the yema.. but the real reason I wasn’t able to wake up in time is the alarm clock..I am the kind of person who depends in alarm clock for me to wake up.

For the past two mornings now, hubby is setting the alarm at 4:00 AM, he said he wants to pray and do quiet time, so whenever that alarm clock rings, I wake up too and wake up hubby..but you can guess what happens next..he doesn’t wake up, he will only turn the alarm off…resulting to me waking up late for office because the alarm was not set into 7:00 AM, my regular waking up time.

Hehe! Tonight I know he’ll not do it again..I gave him a serious warning this morning..:) he knows he has to set the alarm again at 7:00

I still have plenty of time, I’ll go back to work now.
