Holy Week Vacation 2015

Tonight or early tomorrow morning, we're driving home for a short vacation. Everyone is already in the vacation mood, because for us Filipinos, holy week also means vacation. Though it is a religious holiday, we often take this opportunity to spend time with the family while reflecting about the CROSS and JESUS.

I could have opted not to go home in the province because up to now, I am still in neck deep of works and stuff to do for the upcoming Youth Camp on April 7-10. But I think I need this so I can recharge and be even more ready for the event. Plus I am missing home and Nanay so much already.

I remember the last holy week vacation we spent with Tatay, he was already very sick that time but he was so happy that all of us are at home and spending time with him specially his grand kids.

This year will slightly be different but I am sure he'll be smiling from heaven if he sees us happy and enjoying

*~*
On a not so happy news:

There is a typhoon coming to the Philippines this week, this will be first time to me as I have never had experience a typhoon during summer season here. But weather bureau already categorized it as super typhoon :(  Yes, we need rain (water) here but we don't need that strong winds. The sad news is that, it will affect our camp next week. That alone is bringing me a lot of stress, imagine 150 plus youth sleeping in tents-soaked in rain. I don't even want to think about it. Look how big and scary it is

If you are one who prays, can you include this major weather disturbance in your prayers and us please? Thanks!

If you are also going on a vacation- I hope and pray you'll have good time :) Blessings everyone!

18th Birthday photos

The preparation for this birthday celebration took me a lot of time because Mharu (celebrant) is one special girl. All efforts paid off as we saw how happy she was with the outcome :)

Enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed everything in the party :)

That is our centerpiece-I made them myself :) I wrap a burlap cloth around the the recycled jars, put some lace and twines, bought a nice but inexpensive flowers and tada! Actually I wanted this kind of centerpiece (pic below) but the slab of wood didn't make it, I used paper doily instead.
Our guest table
The dessert section (without the desserts yet)  That twigs with flowers are also DIY by yours truly. And that ferris wheel cupcake holder is a star!

Would you believe we made all those paper decors? Spent a lot of nights folding and pasting them :)
The celebrant in the middle with her friends

part of the 18 candles
The venue
The photos from the official photographe are more better but I don't have copies yet, but even with these not official photos. I am over all satisfied with all that labor we did for this event.

Four days after this party, I coordinated and a Christian wedding which I also got good reviews :) not to mention an extra pay..haha! so yes, March is a busy month but it was also blessed.

Working hard for our future home

Posted this on my facebook page yesterday.

Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectations -Andrew Murray

I told a friend, I posted it to motivate my self  to even work harder for our dream home, for our future permanent address. You see, I worry a bit because the payment for "no interest down payment" will end up this June, which means come July we will now be paying a bit higher.

And I know, we will be needing extra income to cover that. Thus, am back to online selling, now I do sell party stuff and maybe I'll sell more items soon like this gold cross here.

Hubs said we can do it. I love his positive attitude, his cheerful disposition, it encourages me more.

This morning,  I saw this image in my news feed, and I know it was meant for me, God is assuring me that He will provide.

God is good.

Birthday Preps

I've been busy doing these stuff for a special girl's birthday, you see, here in the Philippines, a girl's 18th birthday is a big thing and we try to celebrate it in a very special way. It is when a young girl becomes adult and legal :)
invitation card

invitation's envelope :) so shabby!

Paper medallions that we will use as our stage backdrop
Our theme is shabby chic and we are doing it all by ourselves. Can't wait for the party. I am as excited as the celebrant. haha!

Pictures from our recent prayer journey

Prayer journey is a ministry of Global Intercessors where they go to provinces all over the nation to pray for the people forthe land, they meet with Pastors and church group to encourage them and to also pray for them.
Prayers for Legazpi City

My dear husband usually leads the worship

We visited this company that is formed with exceptional mission, to be able to bring a significant change in the community and right now they are doing exactly like that. Their products are from coconuts. You can check their website http://dignitycoco.com/ and see how they are doing things differently. :)
A bonus when you go to trips like this is you get to taste local food. Look at these :) They are all so delicious!

The green one is "laing" (vegetable dish cooked in coconut milk) and it is so good! Bicol is known for that recipe.

Me and Jiji (behind us is the gospel bus which was literally our home for 3 days)

Albay Mission Trip

Tonight, my husband and I will be joining  a prayer journey/mission trip to Albay province together with our Pastor and some church co-worker. We took the opportunity since it is holiday tomorrow (Chinese New Year) so we will only be absent on Friday.

This is our first local mission trip for this year. I miss doing this and I'm sure it's the same with Rudolf. He will be leading the worship so we are bringing with us his acoustic guitar, thankfully not the electric one like dean razorback because it is much heavier, and I on the other hand will just be there to support and will be doing whatever task is delegated to me.

Albay province is still in Luzon but travel time is approximately 10 hours by land and we are taking that route. We will be using a missionary bus that was lent to the group by a big city church.

It's exciting. So I'll probably be off the internet 'till Sunday but when I get back I'll have tons of pictures to share.

God bless everyone!

East Coast and Virginia Beach in mind

You know I also dream of visiting other beaches around the world other than the beautiful beaches here in the Philippines :) and because I know someday I’ll be able to visit the United States of America (that is one major positive thought!) and spend time with my friends and cousins there, when that day comes I hope I’ll have enough time to explore some beach. Wow! Beach bumming in America :) haha!

I heard there are plenty of nice beach in the East Coast.

North Carolina is on the top of my list being a fan of Nicholas Sparks here. I’ve come to love North Carolina because of his books. A plus that I have a  friend who lives there (Hi Liz!). It would also be nice to visit nearby states. Florida is probably where we'll stay because our very good friends Jerlyn and Lester lives there, the very reason why I want it so much  to visit US of A. I know, it's far from being a reality for now but we can wait, few years or more. Maybe 2016 or 2017, who knows?

Anyways, dreaming continues :)

I also wish we can visit one of those popular resort cities n the East Coast. Virginia beach for one. In fact, I've already bookmarked the best site for deals on hotels in Virginia Beach - Motel.com . At least, it will come handy when I need it. Probably be looking out for the cheapest one so better to have one and I know that site can help.

I'm positive this will happen in the near future. I am not and will not give up on that dream :)
